Clausius-Clapeyron Lab Analysis

For the lab we use

to find the DHvap of a liquid.

Looking at the equation you should notice the Y=MX+ B  format.

Y=lnP

M=slope= -DHvap/R

X=1/T

B=C which we don't worry about

By making a  plot of lnP  vs. 1/T we should get a strait line

The slope of this line times -R will give us the Heat of vaporization.

The plot of Ln ofvapor pressure vs. 1/ Temp

A nice straight line. Find the slope of this line and calculate the DHvap.

slope= -DHvap/R
